COLUMBIA, MO — The University of Missouri football team’s 2026 road game at archrival Kansas has been moved up a day to Friday, September 11, the Big 12 Conference announced on Friday.
The game was originally slated for September 12, but because network outlets wanted to make sure the game could be broadcast nationally, the game was moved up a day. Kickoff time for the annual “Border War Showdown” between the Tigers and Jayhawks from David Booth Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kan., will be announced at a later date.
It will be the Missouri’s first visit to Lawrence since 2005. Mizzou holds a 58-54-9 lead in the series, having won five of the last six Border Wars, including a 42-31 victory in Columbia last season.

Missouri will open its 2026 season the week before, with a home game at Faurot Field against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. That game will be on Thursday, September 3, with kickoff time set for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast nationally on the SEC Network.
Following the Kansas game, Mizzou will return home on September 19 for a game against Troy.
The Tigers will begin their Southeastern Conference schedule after that, with a game at Mississippi State (September 26), home games against Florida (October 3) and Texas A&M (October 10), road games at Ole Miss (October 17) and at Arkansas (October 24), followed by a home game against Texas (November 7), a road game at Georgia (November 14), and two home games to close the regular season against Kentucky (November 21) and Oklahoma (November 28).

Weird that they’re gonna play on a Friday.
