In his only season as a member of the Washington University baseball team, grad student transfer Chase Brickley had one of the finest seasons ever for a WashU pitcher.
The 6-5 righthander from Denver, Colo., went 8-2 this season and led the Bears with a 1.72 ERA, with 64 strikeouts and just 14 walks in 73.1 innings pitched, which helped WashU advance to the Midwest Regional finals.
And for that effort, Brickley was named to the D3Baseball.com All-American Team on Thursday, becoming the first WashU player to receive all-American honors since 2021. Brickley was all named First Team D3baseball.com All-Region, First Team ABCA/Rawling Region, and First Team All-UAA distinctions.
Brickley was an undergraduate at Colorado State and played for the CSU Club Baseball Team during his time there. Once he transferred to WashU to pursue his graduate studies, Brickley joined the Bears and dominated play on the mound.
The Bears went 30-13 this season and won 12 of the 14 games Brickley pitched in this spring.
